            1. but i’ve now installed the emoticon-for-phone on my laptop browser!! (it’s called “Emoji Keyboard – Emojis For Chrome”, which is an extension that works on other browsers too). So now i can do this from the keyboard 😜 🐢🐢

            1. dear God, don’t make me look up those dehggis. I’ll take your word for it, and for all of Alden’s leopard bikinis.

            2. hehe, not just that; she has always cut a nice/dashing figure. That being said, when I saw that Calisto Iervolino photo on her instagram, my first thought was “what a nice scarf! chunky wool suits her pretty eyes.”

  1. and then again, there are mezzos who treat their trouser repertory and the fans of that rep with relaxed ease and just like any other (this just in this morning)

    1. rummaging your posts.. my fav so far:
Fixing the plot: Cassandre and the ladies fight back, since they have daggers (duh), make it to a ship and land in Catharge. Without having to leave for Italy. How’s that for an Act IV duet set-up. #LesTroyens

Also, Iervolino is in Spain, i now see from your post that she’s singing in parallel with Monica Bacelli! fantastic double casts:
      Gauvin+Bacelli+L.Alder or R.Kelly+Iervolino+A.Devin!

            1. and that is an AMAZING cast, not just Devin (and Gauvin, and Bacelli, and…), but also Tittoto and Sabata and Guy de Mey!! (remind me again why we’re not there in March?!)

      1. Ahh, should be great, and that production is much better than the leopard bikini pictures would predict. And there’s Sabata as her Endimione, hope there will be pictures at least!

          1. That would be great, though Iervolino seems to be in the “second line” of cast? Although, both casts are suberb, so hopefully they don’t make any distinction.

            1. Nothing against the 40s (or 30s) – 50 just suddenly looks a lot better than earlier this morning.

            2. you are too chivalrous 😉 I do remember the gruelling American work week when I was in my 20s – and I still went out in the evening and still looked fresh in the morning… no “enhancing substances” required, either. 20s = lost on the youth.

    1. That might be a very good fit for her down the road, who knows? (I don’t see her as Krakenthrop material, you need to embrace camp for that)

  2. Yep, spotted this tweet. Been wondering what’s happening with her, she’s cancelled a couple of important role debuts recently, notably Didon in Tcherniakov’s Troyens. (I SUSPECT because the production de-glamorizes the role to the max, but maybe it’s a vocal issue, we’ll never know) If she’s “not looking back” to trouser roles, she’s neither embracing skirt roles as efficiently as she seems to have wanted, erm…

Anna is a a TOTAL darling. So much thought went into that trouser CD, I’m kind a moved tbh.

    1. I had completely forgotten that EG was supposed to be in those Troyens – right. Well, that sure went 180 from „tonal beauty w. Glacial polish“ to „le grain de la voix, will fling herself off cliff“.

Trying to imagine what would happen if EG accidentally produced the most lesbian album of recent years – probably not dedicating a concert of the program in support of the trans community? Not to mention that fab outfit. Bonitatibus is a delight, on- and offstage in how she presents. Smart, considerate, caring.
